I’m searching for flute sheet music for a wedding that I have been asked to play at, any suggestions?
Author: admin // Category: FluteI have been asked to play at my mom’s friends wedding. I play the flute and am looking for sheet music for some wedding songs. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I could play for when they exchange the rings and light the unity candle and where to get the sheet music?
Unfortunately it will be just me playing at the wedding. I found a lot of songs that require a Piano as well, but that won’t work for me. Thank you all for your suggestions.
Take a quick run to the music store. Look for Flute, Violin or Vocal. You could do any of them.
I have at least 4 violin and 2 vocal books that I have used.
Have something short for the Exchanging of rings and the Unity candle. Repeat if needed, but plan on stopping at the end of any phrase.
Ave Maria
Simple Gifts
Amazing Grace
Air from Water Music by Handel

Take a look at this site, scroll down and there are a lot in the index. Have you considered the vocalise by Rachmaninoff?

Here you have a nice selection:

Personally I like the two Ave Marias very much. If you can get to play with an organist, Panis Angelicus is also a wonderful idea.

I played flute at my Mother’s wedding.
I found a really great book that included a CD. I wasn’t sure how it would sound to play with a CD, but everyone loved it. It had all the standard wedding repertoire like Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata and Pachebel’s Cannon in D. If you have to play alone, I would look up something like this.
