this is my question:

Find the total number of handshakes.
( i have figured out it is 45)
Identify at least two different ways to solve this problem.
Use algebraic expressions to describe patterns.
the real problem here is finding the second way. the first algebraic expression i got was;
( i cant type it out cause it wont show up right)
n squared divided by 2 subtract n divied by 2.
